Course Overview

This course is designed to provide Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) with foundational knowledge of psychopharmacology as it relates to children and adolescents receiving behavioral health services. Participants will gain a better understanding of common medication categories, their intended purposes, potential side effects, and the role of non-prescribing professionals in supporting safe and informed care. The course is intended to strengthen awareness, improve interdisciplinary understanding, and help QMHPs recognize medication-related considerations that may impact a child or adolescent’s functioning, treatment response, and overall well-being.
