This introductory training provides Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) with a comprehensive understanding of the Texas Resilience and Recovery (TRR) model and the essential responsibilities of the QMHP role. Learners will explore the foundational principles of recovery and resilience, gain clarity on the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment, and learn how levels of care are determined within TRR. This training is designed for new QMHPs, behavioral health staff, and professionals seeking a foundational understanding of Texas community mental health services. Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 1. Describe the vision, values, and structure of the Texas Resilience and Recovery (TRR) service delivery model. 2. Define recovery and resilience according to SAMHSA and explain their application within child and adolescent mental health. 3. Explain the purpose of the CANS assessment and how CANS results guide level-of-care decisions. 4. Identify the key differences among Levels of Care 1, 2, and 3 within the Texas public mental health system. 5. Describe the qualifications, scope of practice, and core competencies of a QMHP in Texas. 6. Demonstrate understanding of skills training delivery, case management responsibilities, family engagement principles, and crisis support expectations. 7. Summarize essential elements of documentation, compliance, and person-centered recovery planning.
