Course Overview

This course is designed to provide Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) with foundational knowledge and practical guidance for infection prevention and control in behavioral health and care settings. Participants will explore how infections spread, how to reduce transmission risks, and how to apply standard safety practices in everyday service environments. Topics include the chain of infection, standard precautions, proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), environmental safety, and infection prevention strategies that support the well-being of both clients and staff.
